Welcome to the Scan Knowledge Base, a new technically-driven database service designed for customers to share knowledge on product problems and solutions.

What is it about?
Initially this new service requires input from our customers that have solutions to problems or helpful advice with products. We are asking anyone with such knowledge to submit to the knowledge base. All you need to take part is an account! Create one here if you don’t already have one!

What type of information do I submit to the Knowledge base?
The knowledge base is designed for confirmed faults and there relative fixes, if you receive a product and have had issues with it, then for example the manufacturers website has a firmware that resolves the issue and you feel other customers are likely to have the same problem, then Scan via the Knowledge base will reward you with incentive points for sharing your experience and the fix that you found. The knowledge base would also be the place to share a link for a product, where for example you have been looking into buying a device and whilst researching the product you discover a compatibility list that the manufacturer has tested certain devices as working/suggested with the unit, then a link to the listing would also be the type of content that could earn you incentive points. Links to Forums will likely not be authorised, as these sites are not generally hosted by the supplier or manufacturer and the content cannot be monitored effectively to ensure it’s concise and accurate.

What other options do Scan offer other than the Knowledge base to gain information and support on products and faults?
Scan has an Online Query system in place under its Support section for the main departments such as:

Returns and Technical - Where you have purchased a product from Scan that appears to have a fault.

Sales – Questions on product information and recommendations, incorrect Website descriptions and corporate/trade enquiries.

Customer Services – Order tracking and amendments, Courier related issues wrong parts or general inquiries.

The OLQ system creates a Query that is assigned directly to the department you chose and they will deal with the issue directly and as affectively as possible.

Incentive?
We feel that as an extra bonus for sharing your knowledge with the Scan community, every 10 accepted knowledge base answers will receive free carriage on product orders. All accepted submissions will be displayed on product information pages along with the author’s name in recognition.

Where is the knowledge base displayed?
When viewing a product information page, it is possible to see if there are any submissions associated with that product. Customer submissions will be automatically added to this section once they have been accepted by our technical team.

Searching the Knowledge Base?
We have created a search facility that will be launched when the knowledge base has reached maturity.

Keeping Track?
Customers who have submitted are able to keep track of their submissions and see how many submissions they have made along with other statistical information.
